So this meal is a HUGE advancement that you should be proud of too…

I have been wanting to cook Lea Chase’s gumbo z’herbes (a traditional New Orleans Holy Thursday Easter meal) for years now and was resistant because of my previous “unhealthy” boundaries. The gumbo is made of mostly greens like mustard, collard, and turnip greens with sausage meats (previously my no-no arena). Today I decided was the day and it is delicious!!! Yummy greens with alligator pork and smoke sausage. Notice the asparagus in the background…they are saying phooey to the old ways of thinking. 😂My soul is happy. Thank you for bringing me on this beautiful, freeing food journey back home. 🥰
